And the Blog Goes On… 5!

‘Lady’ statue at the Pop Century resort.

When life gives you lemons you can always say ‘screw it’ and go to Disney! At least that is what I ended up doing this year. Between health complications, career changes, and deciding to return to school full-time, this blogger is now realizing how easy it is to overlook taking care of oneself and that taking much needed ‘me time’ is not a luxury, but rather a necessity. This is why I ended up booking myself a stay for nine glorious nights and ten days at Walt Disney World’s Pop Century Resort. Equipped with a park hopper pass, late night special event tickets, and zero adult responsibilities, I was able to immerse myself in all things Disney and rediscover the joy in the little things. No matter what my trip threw at me, whether scoring a lightning lane after being walked off Spaceship Earth in Epcot, or indulging in a decadent pop-rock laden “I Lava You Float” from Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom park, taking the time to appreciate where I am and how much I have accomplished was a very special treat and just the right kind of reset I needed to recharge and inspire me to look towards whatever adventures life might send my way.

“I Lava You Float” from Sunshine Tree Terrace.

Speaking of inspiration, I would be remiss not to mention that Disneyland Park is celebrating its 69th anniversary today! While I still have not made the trek to California, that just might have to be next on my travel list. However, Disneyland is not the only thing that we are celebrating, as The Film Rewind is turning 5 today! Even with our posts becoming more sporadic, this doesn’t mean that we aren’t still watching lots and lots of movies, so check out the list below of newly acquired DVDs that I have added to my ever-growing personal film library (1,365 items and counting…) and see our updated stats celebrating how our blog has grown over the past year. Enjoy!
